“Entrepreneurship means courage”

16.11.2011 İstanbul

In his speech at the University Entrepreneurship Clubs Congress, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, addressing the university students, stated that they were in the right place and that they would definitely meet again in the future under TOBB.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “You are Turkey’s future. He who is most beneficent is he who is beneficent to others. You are doing the most beneficent work for the people and the country.”

Stating that if we wish to be one of the top 10 economies in the world we need to increase our number of entrepreneurs, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Every year 750,000 youth join the workforce. The only way to solve unemployment is entrepreneurship.”

Requesting that university entrepreneurs keep in close dialogue with the young entrepreneur councils in the 91 provinces, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Make use of their success stories and experiences.”

“Entrepreneurship means courage, to be an entrepreneur means to change the system,” said the TOBB President and went on, “The unintelligent man will fight against the intelligent man. The intelligent man fights against the system. The intelligent man looks for flaws in the system, not the man.

Our system is finished. Despite this, we write success stories.

According to the World Bank, Turkey is the 65th on the ease of business index. Despite this we keep growing our economy. We don’t have petroleum or natural gas. Our only resource is our entrepreneurial spirit.”
