In his message regarding the People with Disabilities Week, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the quality of life we are able to provide our citizens with disabilities is indicative of our level of civilization and understanding of unity and solidarity. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that we must protect the rights of our citizens with disabilities as a society.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his message:
“It is our shared responsibility to be aware our citizens with disabilities and to seek solutions to their problems with understanding and patience.
As Turkish business world, we fully believe in developing their dynamism and enterprising spirits; putting into action their ideas.
We must support the development of the present physical, mental and social abilities of our citizens with disabilities; it should be all of our duty to reintegrate them into society. We must facilitate their reintegration to every part of society before they lose their joy to live.
The truth of it is that the rights of our citizens with disabilities are no less than any of ours. We must build our lives with this in mind. Let us not forget that every human being on the earth is special.
It is with these thoughts and feelings that I, on behalf of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Board of Directors and our business world, wish that the People with Disabilities Week will raise our awareness and sensitivity.”
