Food sector’s goal is to bring safe products to consumers

TOBB Turkey Food Industry Council convened at the TOBB Union Center in Ankara with Council President Necdet Buzbaş presiding and the attendances of the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry Food Control Department Workgroup Lead Ahmet Bostan and Laboratory Workgroup Lead Hüseyin Arap.​

 

Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry Food Control Department Workgroup Lead Ahmet Bostan provided a briefing on the subjects of transparency and exposure.

Ahmet Bostan provided information regarding the Law #5996 Regarding Veterinarian Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed as well as the 174 Food Hotline.

Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry Food Control Department Laboratory Workgroup Lead Hüseyin Arap said, in regards to varied outcomes of laboratory analysis “The ministry takes all necessary precautions in order to avoid varying results in the tests of products which have undergone different processes in production, cross referencing when required.”

Arap stated that, “Companies need to make thorough final checks before bringing a product to market. We are acting with prudence regarding exposure.”
