TOBB Turkey Defense Industry Council met under Defense Industry Undersecretary Murad Bayar to discuss the issues on the sector’s agenda. During the meeting, the new incentives system as well as the Turkish Trade Law was assessed. Undersecretary stated that the new incentives system brings many opportunities with it and that they expect it to fulfill the sector’s expectations.
Defense Industry Undersecretary Murad Bayar stated that companies are aware of their responsibilities and that they will carry Turkey to new heights with their performance.
- Benefits of the incentives system to the defense industry
The Economy Ministry Incentive Application and Foreign Capital General Director İbrahim Uslu stated that investments towards the defense industry are considered machinery production, motor vehicles and electric/non-electric machinery and thus can be categorized under electronic investments. Uslu stated that according to the investment project criteria, all of these investments can be regarded as strategic, regional and large scale investments.
- The new Turkish Trade Law
During the meeting, Galatasaray University Faculty Member Dr. Sıtkı Anlam Altay provided detailed information regarding the new Turkish Trade Law. Altay explained what the new law would bring for companies in both the theoretical and practical sense, what kind of effect it would have on company directors, partners, investors and various interested parties.
