The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Education Council Meeting was held with the participation of the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Private Education Institutions Education Policies Department Head Vedat Kuşgözoğlu, Head of Schools Department Murat İlci, General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services Education Policies Department Head Fikret Yılmaz and the private sector and non-governmental organizations under the chairmanship of Council President Dr. Yusuf Ekinci.
Council President Dr.
Yusuf Ekinci expressed his pleasure meeting with the Members before the
International Women's Day and emphasized that they came together to consult on
the issues that are important for the sector. Emphasizing that the aim of
Turkish national education is the use of knowledge and the production of
knowledge, which is the essence of the information society, President Ekinci
stated that young people should be trusted and that it is valuable to raise
them according to the years they will live.
The public
representatives invited to the meeting expressed their satisfaction with
supporting the sector and expressed their readiness to always support the
solution of the problems with sensitivity.
TOBB University of
Economics and Technology Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Hale Şıvgın in their speech
titled Democracy, Awareness and Education in the Republic’s 100th
Year, compared Türkiye 100 years ago with today, emphasizing the struggle for
liberation and touched on the issues of democracy, Republic and education.
Referring to the Law on Unification of Education, Şıvgın reminded the reforms
made in education.
Lütfi Gülbenk, the
founder of Gülbenk Consultancy, discussed the issue of EYT, which was published
in the Official Gazette on March 3, 2023 and entered into force, and its impact
on employers was shared with the owners of the institution. Answering the
questions of the members, Gülbenk shared with the Council Members the issues
such as how pension applications are made, severance pay and premium support
for those who retire from the EYT and are re-hired.
Stating that unity and
solidarity are needed more than ever with the earthquake disaster, the sector
representatives expressed that the aid to the earthquake region continues and
that they are mobilized for students who have been transferred to other regions.
The meeting, where the
current problems of private schools, courses, publishers and driving schools
represented in the Council were consulted, ended with the answers of the
questions of the members by Vedat Kuşgözoğlu, Head of the Education Policies
Department of the General Directorate of Private Education Institutions of the
Ministry of National Education, Murat İlci, Head of the Department of Schools,
and Fikret Yılmaz, Head of the Education Policies Department of the General
Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
