In the first 8 months of 2024, compared to the first 8 months of 2023, the number of established companies decreased by 14.2%, the number of established real person commercial enterprises decreased by 28.6%, the number of established cooperatives decreased by 13.2%.

In the first 8 months of 2024, compared to the first 8 months of 2023, the number of closed companies increased by 25.4%, the number of closed cooperatives increased by 5.2% and the number of closed real person commercial enterprises decreased by 36.1%.

- The number of companies established decreased by 11.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In August 2024, compared to August 2023, the number of established companies decreased by 11.7%, the number of established cooperatives decreased by 38.4%, the number of established real person commercial enterprises decreased by 5.1%.

In August 2024, the number of closed companies increased by 5.7% compared to the same month of 2023, while the number of closed cooperatives decreased by 18.7% and the number of closed real person commercial enterprises decreased by 28.6%.

- Company incorporation in all provinces in August 2024

Of the 9,482 companies and cooperatives established in August 2024, 85.9% were limited liability companies, 11.9% were joint stock companies and 2.2% were cooperatives. Of the companies and cooperatives, 35.9% were established in Istanbul, 11.1% in Ankara and 7.1% in Izmir.

Companies were established in all provinces this month.

- Total capital of companies established in August 2024 decreased by 7.9% compared to the previous month

A total of 73,454 companies and cooperatives were established in 2024. In this period, 63,457 limited liability companies and 8,198 joint stock companies constituted 71.0% and 29.0% of the total capital, respectively. The total capital of companies established in August decreased by 7.9% compared to July.

- In August 2024, 3,096 companies and cooperatives were established in trade, 1,373 in manufacturing and 1,258 in construction. 439 real person commercial enterprises were established in construction sector.

Of the companies and cooperatives closed this month; 650 in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 240 in manufacturing, 198 in construction.

Of the real person commercial enterprises closed this month, 425 were in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 169 in construction and 145 in manufacturing.

- Of the 210 cooperatives established in August 2024, 132 are housing cooperatives

Of the 210 cooperatives established in August 2024, 132 were established as Housing Construction Cooperatives, 40 as Enterprise Cooperatives, 13 each as Agricultural Development Cooperatives and Tourism Development Cooperatives.

- 658 companies with foreign capital were established in August 2024.

Of the 658 companies with foreign share capital established in August 2024, 406 were established in Türkiye, 29 in Iran and 25 in Germany.

Of the 658 companies with foreign capital, 78 were joint stock companies and 580 were limited liability companies. 643 of the companies established in 2024 were in the Wholesale trade in stores not devoted to a specific commodity, 250 in the Construction of buildings for residential or non-residential purposes and 239 in the Business and other administrative consulting activities sector.

Foreign shareholders account for 73.6% of the total capital of the companies with foreign capital.
