TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated the Turkey (A) National Women’s Volleyball Team for beating Poland 3-0 in the European Continental Qualifiers and thereby earning the right to compete in the 2012 London Olympics. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the determined work our volleyball players have put in has brought them victory and has swelled the chest of the nation with pride.
In his message, Hisarcıklıoğlu said:
“Beating Poland by 3-0 at the finals and earning the right to compete at the 2012 London Olympics, our (A) National Women’s Volleyball Team has achieved a first in the history of Turkish volleyball and also ended the longing of Turkey for participating in team sports for the last 52 years.
On behalf of the Turkish business world, I present our thanks to everyone, the Federation President, technical team, athletes and supporters for their contributions to this great success and giving us the opportunity for the pride we’ve felt in them.
I heartily believe that ‘The Sultans of the Net’ will go on to achieve great successes at the Olympics and that their stories of success will follow, I congratulate them all.”
