Seyit Ardıç, Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), attended the meeting on ‘Producer’s Road Map in the Licensing of Medicinal Tea’ organized in cooperation with TOBB and the Ministry of Health, Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK).
Speaking at the opening
of the meeting held at TOBB Twin Towers, Seyit Ardıç explained that medicinal
teas are on the way to becoming a complementary part of the health system, both
with its history blended with traditional knowledge and its nature open to
modern scientific approaches.
Pointing out that the
production and commercialization of medicinal teas as a rapidly growing sector,
especially in the field of complementary medicine and traditional herbal
products, requires more focus and strategic governance, Ardıç said, “It is the
shared responsibility of all stakeholders to not only regulate legislation, but
also to guide producers, establish quality standards and bring reliable
products to the market. With this understanding, it is vital to provide dialog
environments that will pave the way for our sector. In this context, we have come
together to discuss the licensing process of medicinal teas and to clarify the
road map of our producers in this field. Together, we will develop solutions
that will contribute to both our health and our economy by raising the
standards of traditional medicinal tea production. The opinions and solution
proposals we will put forward here today will shape not only today, but also
the future of our country in the field of medicinal plants.”
Seyit Ardıç, Member of
the Board of Directors of TOBB, emphasized the role of sector councils in this
regard and said, “Sector Councils operating within our Union keep the pulse of
the sectors and provide strategic guidance by combining expertise from
different disciplines. These platforms, where both private sector representatives
and public authorities take place together, not only identify problems, but
also carry the responsibility of developing solutions.”
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayar,
President of TİTCK, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayar, Dean of Başkent University Faculty of
Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Başaran and leading representatives of the sector
