The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Food Industry Council convened via video conference under the chairmanship of Council President Necdet Buzbaş, with the participation of TOBB Executive Board Member Işınsu Kestelli.

In the first part of the meeting, Sadık Ertuğrul, Agricultural Expert from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, gave a presentation on the new regulation regarding the sale and application of plant protection products, published in the Official Gazette on December 13, 2025. The presentation provided Assembly members with information on registration, traceability, and the transition to an e-prescription system for pesticide use. It was stated that the new system would be piloted in the provinces of Ankara, Mersin, Samsun, and Kırklareli, with plans to roll it out nationwide by July 2026.

During the meeting, Ersin Dilber, Director General of Food and Control at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, drew attention to the misinformation circulating in the public sphere regarding pesticides. Dilber emphasized that Turkey has strong monitoring and analysis capabilities in this area, noting that it is one of the countries that conducts the most analyses within the European Union.

The meeting concluded after discussing the need for accurate information in the food supply chain, the decline in agricultural production, and the sector's expectations for 2026.
