The TOBB Board of Directors, led by President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu toured the Licensed Warehouse Facility of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce at Ahiboz and inspected the Specialized Product Sales Hall and the silos. Hosted by the TOBB Board Vice President and Ankara Commodity Exchange President Faik Yavuz, TOBB Board Members were briefed on the Licensed Warehouses and viewed an example sale.
Providing information regarding the warehouses, which have a total capacity of 30,000 tons, Ankara Commodity Exchange President Faik Yavuz reported that the facilities can process up to 300 tons per hour. Stating that they put forward 6 projects when they took office in 2009 and that they promised to realize these projects, Yavuz said: “The first of these was the livestock exchange. As the Ankara Commodity Exchange, we made this one a reality in Yenikent. Afterwards, we constructed the slaughterhouse for it. A meat exchange was necessary for those who were coming from the various parts of Turkey, which we will be opening soon. The third we completed was the office space project. The fourth is licensed warehousing. We have acquired the authorized classification certification. We said specialized product sales hall and here we are. We have set our goals while looking ahead 20 years in the future. As an exchange, we have prepared all necessary infrastructures for grain, pulse vegetables, livestock and meat.”
After the tour, the TOBB Board Meeting was held under M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at Ahiboz.
