Informatory Meeting for “Turkish Commercial Code” at TOBB

Prof. Dr. Zuhtu Aytac made a presentation about “The New Turkish Commercial Code in the context of Commercial Businesses and Companies” at the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
The innovations of the New Turkish Commercial Code that contains more than 1500 articles were discussed at this informatory meeting. The TOBB’s top-level bureaucrats attended together with the chairman of TOBB, Mr. M. Rifat Hisarciklioglu.Prof. Dr. Zuhtu Aytac, in his presentation, pointed out that the new Code is liberal and takes into account the requirements of market economy. He also emphasized that secondary legislation is at least as important as the Code. Prof. Dr. Aytac further stated that the new Code will contribute to reducing black economy by tightining regulations and also noted that strengthening the financial structures of business and companies are being targeted.
