At the Middle East Trade Center meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that peace is necessary for trade, that prosperity is only possible through trade.
Attending the Middle East Trade Center meeting held at the Dead Sea,
Jordan, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu gave a speech during the gala
dinner.
In his speech, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the activation of the Middle
East Trade Center would benefit the development of trade and economic relations
in the region.
Drawing attention to the relationship between the development of trade
and prosperity, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that peace is necessary for trade, that
prosperity is only possible through trade.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu touched on the role of the private sector
in increasing trade, emphasizing that the lifting of tariff and quotas between
counties would increase trade.
Attending the meeting were US Chamber of Commerce International Affairs
Vice Director Myron Brilliant, Jordan Water and Irrigation Minister Hazem
Nasser, TOBB Board Vice President Ç. Ali Kopuz, TEPAV Director Prof. Dr. Güven
Sak, US Chamber representatives, Ambassadors and many businessmen from Egypt,
Palestine, Jordan, Israel, USA and Turkey.
