MHP President Devlet Bahçeli accepted the Turkey – EU Joint Arbitration Committee (KİK) co-chaired by TESK President Bendevi Palandöken.
Attending the reception held at the MHP head office were TOBB President Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu, Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay, Hak-İş President Mahmut Arslan,
Memur-Sen President Ahmet Gündoğdu, TİSK Board Chairman Tuğrul Kudatgobilik and
Turkey Kamu-Sen President İsmail Koncuk.
The meeting was held closed to the press, lasting approximately 25
minutes followed by Palandöken’s address of the press wherein he reported that
they have requested a softening in the political arena and a return of focus on
the economy.
Stating that the local elections are behind us, Palandöken stressed the
need to focus on employment, sustenance and homeland, “Our visit, in essence,
is about the continuity of unity, livelihood and honesty of the country.
It is necessary to soften rhetoric and refocus on economy, speeding up
the EU process and pushing on with the work on the new constitution are among
the issues which the country must focus on instead of the tension and stress of
elections.”
Palandöken reported that they will be issuing a declaration following
their visits to the other parties represented in the parliament.
