As the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, we celebrate the May 1st of all our laborer brothers. We hope that May 1st, the Labor and Solidarity Day, brings peace and hope to Turkey -not conflict. We want to work, produce and grow our country’s economy in peace with our 1.5 million members and 13.5 million employees.
Our region and the global economy are undergoing a difficult period.
During this time, it is evident that Turkey needs unity and solidarity more
than ever.
In this regard, our hope is that on May 1st, conflict is
avoided and public spaces are made places of celebration.
May 1st is the celebration of the exalted value of labor.
True to its nature, it should be celebrated with regards to the balance of
freedom and responsibility.
Let us not forget that May 1st has been recognized as a
national holiday after a long absence. This is a sign of civilian and
democratic administration in the country. In order to bask in the pride of
solidarity among social strata, we want to celebrate May 1st with
joy this year.
A May 1st in which differences are put aside and a day of
dancing instead of violence and conflict is our shared wish.
