Accompanying the President of the Republic of Turkey, Abdullah Gül, on his Georgia visit, TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended a meeting with Turkish businessmen in the business delegation and Turkish entrepreneurs residing in Eurasia.
The meeting, presided over by TOBB/DEİK-DTİK President Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu on May 6th, 2014 at the Georgia Sheraton was attended
by over 40 Turkish entrepreneurs.
Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEİK) Board Member Dr. Murat
Yalçıntaş and World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) Eurasia Regional Committee
Chairman Ali Galip Savaşır and the chairpersons and members of various
associations in Georgia attended the meeting.
TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu touched on the geographical
and strategic importance of Georgia; spoke in regards to the increased trade
volume at the Sarp Border Gate, the facilities of which were modernized by
TOBB, stating that it presents an important opportunity for entrepreneurship in
Georgia.
Drawing attention to the importance of unity among Turkish associations
in Georgia for the Turkish diaspora, Hisarcıklıoğlu urged unity and solidarity.
World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) Eurasia Regional Committee
Chairman Ali Galip Savaşır provided information in regards to the efforts of
the Eurasian Regional Committee while the Georgia Representative of the
Eurasian Regional Committee, Ali İhsan Akıskalıoğlu stated that they have and
will continue to work towards the Committee’s goals.
Other speakers during the meeting were Georgian Turkish Businessmen’s
Association (GÜRTİAD) Chairman Kenan Yıldırı and Foreign Economic Relations
Council (DEİK) Board Member Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş. The meeting ended with a
Q&A session.
