Australian Ambassador James Larsen visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office.
During the meeting, Ambassador Larson emphasized that the economic
relations between Australia and Turkey had not yet reached the desired level,
pointing out education, mining and agriculture as sectors ripe with potential
for cooperation.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Australia is one of the most
advanced countries of the Asia Pacific, but we are so poorly acquainted,”
stating that relations need to be improved and stressed the importance of Turks
residing in Australia for this process.
Also discussed during the meeting were the B-20 and the G-20 processes.
