The protocol for the high school which will be built in Van by TOBB has been signed during a ceremony at the Van Chamber of Trade and Industry with the attendances of the Minister for Development Cevdet Yılmaz and TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Also attending the signing ceremony were AKP Vice President and Party
Speaker Hüseyin Çelik, Van Governor Aydın Nezih Doğan, Van TSO Board Chairman
Necdet Takva, Van Commodity Exchange Board Chairman Salman Toprak and various
businessmen.
Giving the opening speech of the ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Van deserves the best of everything. Hisarcıklıoğlu
reported that, as TOBB, they had built 2 schools in Van previously and went on:
“Now, we will be building a science high school with 24 classes and a 200
capacity dormitory for Van. I hope that this school will prove beneficial for
Van.”
- TOBB is one of the greatest
supporters of the education campaign
Stating that they began a campaign called 100% Support for Education,
AKP Vice President and Party Speaker Hüseyin Çelik said that TOBB is one of the
greatest supporters of the education campaign, “I would like to thank TOBB for
their beautiful gesture.”
Van Governor Aydın Nezih Doğan reported that 920 classrooms had been
lost following the earthquake, replaced by 3,002 classrooms, a third of which
have been built by philanthropists, “At the moment the construction of 950
additional classrooms is underway. I would like to thank the TOBB President in
the person of our generous businessmen.”

Attending the signing ceremony, Minister for Development Cevdet Yılmaz
stated that they’ve had a very colorful and joyous day in Van.
Stating that Van has a young population and should take full advantage
of it, Minister Yılmaz said, “Education is imperative. We must have a
well-equipped populace in regards to education and we must increase employment
opportunities.
The ceremony ended with the presentation of plaques and gifts.
Minister for Development Yılmaz and those accompanying him departed for
Hakkari via helicopter following the ceremony.
