TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the record attempt for the Guinness Book of Records’ “the world’s largest breakfast” in Van.
The record was broken with the contributions of the Van Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (Van TSO), Van Governor’s office, the Greater Van
Municipality as well as many institutions, establishments and civil society
organizations and was met with joy by the city.
Visiting Van to lend his support, the Union of Chambers and Commodity
Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Van
Commodity Exchange (VATBO) following the event at the Atatürk Culture Park.
Visiting the Van TSO afterwards, Hisarcıklıoğlu was greeted by Van TSO
President Necdet Takva, board members and the Guinness Turkey Representative
Şeyda Subaşı Gemici.
A commemorative photo was taken with the certificate prepared by
Guinness for the Van TSO following which Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the ceremony
for the signing of the protocol between TOBB and the Van Governorship for the
construction of a 24 class science high school and 200 capacity dormitory.

Gemici stated that June 1st was a very happy day for Van and that
the city had broken the world largest breakfast record with 51,793 attending.
The record was previously held in the USA.
The event was attended by Hisarcıklıoğlu and the residents of Van as
well as the Development Minister Cevdet Yılmaz; it was also covered extensively
by media outlets.
