Attending the new service building of the Keşan Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We will eliminate unemployment but what we need is to compete on a level playing field with our competitors.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the VAT on rice in the region has been
reported to him and addressed Minister Müezzinoğlu, “There is a 1% tax on
cracked wheat while there is 8% tax on rice. It has been requested that this be
pulled back to 1% as well.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they are prepared to support the seminar put
forth by the Keşan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Mustafa
Helvacıoğlu on the regulation for the institutionalization of family companies
and went on to express that they are hopeful for the future of the country.
Stating that the private sector has provided 5.5 million new jobs to the people
during the crisis, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We couldn’t stop if you tied us down.
We yearn to run. We’ve become aware of the world.”
Stating that there is a large market to the West of Keşan, TOBB
president Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “All you need to do is explore the surrounding
region you are in. We must think about what we could market there.” Emphasizing
the agricultural resources of the region, Hisarcıklıoğlu also pointed to great
potential for livestock farming.
M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu drew attention to the importance of branding and
pointed out the importance of unity and solidarity for cities to be recognized
as unique brands.”
