Speaking at the Academic Consultants Training closing meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the local data and information production capacity as well as the policy generation capacity of chambers and exchanges organized throughout Turkey can be greatly enhanced by the support of academic consultants. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our chambers and exchanges which provide 5-star service to its members will be the focal point of local development as a consequence of the process of accreditation.”
The first meeting for the 81 Academic Consultants in 81 Provinces
project - started off through the decision of the TOBB Board in order to
contribute to the local economy and development efforts of chambers and
exchanges as well as strengthening relations between universities and the
business world - has come to an end.
The meeting which began on July15th, 2014, at TOBB went on at
TEPAV and TOBB ETU through to the 18th of July.
During the meeting, information was provided on the subjects of TOBB’s
structure, services, mission and activities; Turkey and global economic
outlook; regional development and competition; investment environment, export
and production structure analysis, value chain analysis, project management cycle,
funding resource practices, university-business world cooperation, new dynamics
in world commerce and Turkey, Turkish foreign policy’s future, EU policy and
Turkey’s membership process.
İŞKUR, KOSGEB and Economy Ministry officials provided information on
İŞKUR and KOSGEB endorsements and the URGE project.
Following the meeting, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu presented
academicians who attended the training with TOBB pins.
