TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Turkish Council 3rd Business Forum organized by the Turkish Speaking Countries Business Council in Nakhchivan
.Hisarcıklıoğlu began his speech at the forum by expressing how much joy
it gives him to be in Nakhchivan.
Stating that the world’s economy is undergoing a period of great change,
the TOBB President said, “The thinking that the world is made up of separate,
segregated pieces, is dead and gone. Scientific and technological advances have
deepened economic, political and cultural ties among countries, bringing with
it integration and globalization. This process has enabled both the integration
of economies as well as economic growth on a global scale.”
Emphasizing that globalization also makes economic cooperation
mandatory, Hisarcıklıoğlu drew attention to formations like the EU, NAFTA,
Transpacific Partnership Agreement and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment
Partnership.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the need to be aware of such changes.
Drawing attention to the fact that two thirds of the world’s economy
will be more closely connected, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “If we want to reach
greater prosperity, we cannot be left out of this. We appreciate the work of
the Turkish Council to strengthen the economies ties between our countries. In
this regard, the active participation and follow-up of the private sector in
the relevant Work Groups of the Turkish Council becomes increasingly important.”
Following the Forum, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the war grave
with the chamber and exchange presidents accompanying him.
