The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) held its 20th Board Meeting in İstanbul, presided over by TOBB President and ICCIA Vice President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Speaking at the opening of the Board Meeting, Hisarcıklıoğlu drew
attention to the need for them to lobby as the representatives of the Islamic
business community with their governments in regards to issues of great import
for the private sector such the Preferential Trade Agreements and the issue of
visas, “Private sector provides jobs, food and prosperity to this community.
This means our members and their actions. This means that all our wishes equate
to the Islamic world becoming richer and more prosperous. We must first put
this forth well.”
Touching on the Palestine Trade and Investment Expo 2014 organized by
TOBB and Islamic Development Bank and attended by President Recep Tayyip
Erdoğan, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “You know that Palestine concerns us all. We
provide every assistance at every opportunity.”
