TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with the Turkey-EU Arbitration Committee (KİK) visited EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır. European Union (EU) Minister and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır said in regards to the EU process, “Opening new chapters isn’t all that important; we don’t have to open new chapters. It would be nice to do so but if we truly feel progress then we will be happy.” Bozkır stated during the reception that keeping EU relevant would be strengthening for Turkey and that every facet of Turkish life would benefit from the EU process.
Bozkır stated that the phrase “New Turkey” is not one which aims to
change Turkey but one which denotes a desire to enable it to go further, to increase
prosperity, advance individual freedoms and generate the feeling of belonging
in all regardless of ethnicity, creed or life style.
Minister Bozkır thanked the KİK delegation for their contributions to
the economy, prosperity level and democracy.
Turkey-EU Arbitration Committee (KİK) Co-President and Confederation of
Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen President Bendevi Palandöken said, “All actors
of the Turkish business life are here. We have great expectations of you. We
wish you success.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu presented Bozkır with a book compiled by TOBB, “From the
Rose Garden of Yunus” which has the collected poems of Yunus Emre.
