TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has been elected as the Vice President of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI).
Elected as Vice President during the CACCI General Assembly held in
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our duty is to fly
the flag of our country at every corner of the world. The increasing importance
of the Asia-Pacific region in the global economy has caused the developed
economies to turn their attention this way. Accordingly, we are working hard to
fly our flag higher in this region as the representative of our business
community. It is of additional joy that this election has been held in our
brother country, Malaysia.”
Emphasizing that he will work to increase the economic relations between
the Turkish business community and the Asia-Pacific countries, Hisarcıklıoğlu
said, “I have undertaken the roles of Vice Presidency of EUROCHAMBRES, Deputy
Presidency of ICCIA and Board Member of ICC. In addition to these, I have been
elected as the Vice President of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of
Commerce and Industry. I am greatly honored on behalf of my country and
business community for this election. I will represent our country and business
community in the best way during this appointment.”
The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry
(CACCI) is comprised of the chamber unions of 26 Asian and Western Pacific
countries including Japan, India, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia,
South Korea, Taiwan, China, Singapore, Georgia and Turkey.
Founded in 1966, CACCI is among the United Nations’ official arbitration
organs. The main areas of CACCI’s operations include support for SMEs, networking
for cooperation between business communities and training.
