The second Council Member Seminar has been organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) on October 17th through to the 19th, 2014, at the TOBB University of Economics and Technology (ETU).
Attending the seminar, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized
that knowledge is the most precious treasure, pointing out that these seminars
aiming to inform approximately 10,000 council members are a first for TOBB.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that council members are
representatives of their provinces and profession groups, emphasizing the
importance of knowledge in this regard.
Thanking the council members for their self-sacrifices to serve the
business community, the TOBB President went on to stressing the need to make
cities business-friendly with regards to the nature of competition shifting on
to cities instead of countries in the global economy.
Stating that it is their duty to collect comments, views and criticism
in order to pass decisions addressing these to a higher authority,
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that they need to be in amicable terms with everyone
from the governor to municipality director, to the parliamentary
representatives of a city in order to work together for the future of the city.
