Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TTSO) Silk Road Museum was opened with a ceremony attended by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Trabzon Governor Abdil Celil Öz, Trabzon Municipality Director Orhan Fevzi Gümrükçüoğlu, TOBB Board Vice President Halim Mete, TTSO Board Chairman Suat Hacısalihoğlu, TTSO Council Chairman Şadan Eren and many guests.
Speaking at the ceremony, TOBB
President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that chambers not only contribute to their
city’s economy, but also engage in the culture of it.
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that
Trabzon, as a city of rich heritage of history and culture, has a significant
mission, “The second city to be conquered by Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror after
İstanbul was Trabzon. I would like to thank the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Board Chairman and Council Chairman as well as all the council members
for the cultural, historical and social service they’ve accomplished.”
Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Board Chairman Suat Hacısalihoğlu reported that they have been
collecting various exhibits since 2010 and said that the museum has been
founded to unearth the historical artifacts of Trabzon.

Commodity Exchange visit
Following the opening of the
museum, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Trabzon Commodity Exchange
(Trabzon TB), meeting with Exchange Chairman Şükrü Güngör Köleoğlu and council
members.
Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the
importance of the Trabzon Commodity Exchange, touching on various matters
including nut yield improvement project and courses opened by Trabzon TB as a
part of the UMEM Ability’10 Project.
Afterwards, Hisarcıklıoğlu
presented Trabzon Governor Abdil Celil Öz, Trabzon Municipality Director Orhan
Fevzi Gümrükçüoğlu and Council Members with copies of “From Yunus’ Rose Garden”
published by TOBB.
