Attending the opening of the renovated Çarşamba TSO Service Building and the Çarşamba Commodity Exchange’s M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu Conference Hall, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Çarşamba Plain is a great resource for the region, that the food sector will become one of the most important sectors in the coming years.
Objecting in principle to having something named after him because he serves
on behalf of an institution, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he had suggested TOBB
as an alternative, “My friends have seen it fit to name it thus still. I extend
my profuse gratitude.” He went on to stress the importance of unity and
solidary for serving the city.
Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of uniting behind common sense
for the wellbeing of the city.
Stating that Turkey has the 7th largest arable land area in
the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu stood on the importance of agriculture and
stockbreeding. Stating that Çarşamba Plain is a great resource for the region,
the TOBB President pointed out that the Food OIZ idea could bring in
industrialization and keep the real profit in Çarşamba.
Underlining the fact that Turkey needs to increase the number of its
entrepreneurs, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The loftiest aspect of entrepreneurship is
the ability to provide others food and jobs. There can be no greater joy.”
