The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the General Assembly of the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC) held in Macedonia.
The ABC’s 2015 First General Assembly was organized with the attendances
of the chamber presidents and representatives of the member Balkan states,
hosted by term president Macedonia Chamber of Economy.
Hisarcıklıoğlu provided information in regards to the B20 of which he is
term president during his speech at the ABC General Assembly. Summarizing the
process, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that, for the first time, they have brought
the matters of SMEs and entrepreneurship to the table.

Agreement signed
Following the general assembly, with the attendance of Macedonian Deputy
Prime Minister Zoran Stavrevski, an event was held for the 93rd
anniversary of the establishment of the Macedonian Chamber of Economy.
In order to increase bilateral relations and trade volume, TOBB
President Hisarcıklıoğlu and Macedonian Chamber of Economy President Branko
Azeski signed the Turkey-Macedonia Work Committee Agreement.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Macedonia, which has dealt
peaceably with Turkey ever since its independence has grown in a stable manner
despite the crises in the surrounding region.
Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Stavrevski reported that if the
European economy is stabilized, they project 4-4.5% growth for Macedonia in
2015.
During the event, organized with the theme of 2015 Competitive Power,
Stavrevski stated that they put great importance on competition and view
infrastructure to this end as a priority.
Accompanying Hisarcıklıoğlu during his Macedonia meetings were TOBB Board
Member Memiş Kütükcü and TOBB Foreign Affairs Commission member Ergün
Efendioğlu.
