TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, during his speech at the seminar for chamber and exchange council members, said, “In order to live in peace and happiness, we must all share in prosperity. Our goal is to raise per capita income to 25,000 USD.”
The 18th Council Members Seminar took place on the between
the 13th and 15th of March, concluding at TOBB ETU.
Giving the closing speech of the seminar, TOBB President M. Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance of unity and solidarity, “Birds of a
feather stick together. If there is success, it belongs to not just me but all
of us, it is due to the fact that we can work together.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that chamber and exchange councils form the core
of the business world and that they must add experiences and gains to their
vision and relay it to others. He stated that the most beneficent of men is who
he is beneficent unto others.
Stating it is only natural to have differing views, Hisarcıklıoğlu said,
“We may have differences of opinions. The important thing is to reach a unified
will through this richness of opinion. Working around a unified will, we must
become a single fist.”

Emphasizing the prominence of cities in regards to global economic
competition, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that 50% of economic
activity takes place in its 600 great cities, stating that this would increase
to 60% within 6 years and went on, “It is our duty to enrich our province and
cities.” The TOBB President urged the council members to make use of the
development agencies and the funds they provide to produce projects.
