In a message regarding the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that sovereignty and independence are our nation’s greatest inheritance, “Our gratitude for the great Atatürk and his comrades in arms who sacrificed their lives for the independence of our sacred homeland will last throughout the generations. Our children are the greatest protectors of this inheritance.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:
“Once again, we are commemorating the opening of the Grand National
Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, April 23rd with great joy and
enthusiasm. Gifted to children by our great leader Atatürk, this is a day of
solidarity and independence. It is a day which has reached international
acclaim, acting as a seed to bring the children of the whole world together in
brotherly love, promising a better future without war.
Freedom and justice are both founded on national sovereignty. Our bid in
the race of civilizations begun following our war for independence; set as a
great goal for our children to strive for. This is a point of great pride and
honor for us.
With these thoughts and sentiments, I heartily celebrate the April 23rd
National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on behalf of the Turkish business
community.”
