Attending the Sarajevo Business Forum, considered “the Balkans’ Davos”, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Sarajevo Business Forum will act as a bridge between potential investors and that Turkey will always stand by Bosnia Herzegovina.
Pointing out Turkey is chairing G20 this term, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized
that G20 is an extraordinary platform which enables the various countries of
G20 to act in unison.
Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said, “The Sarajevo Business Forum has
become one of the most important organizations of the region in terms of
cooperation.”
Emphasizing that real prosperity is out of the question for Southeastern
European countries as long as obstacles to investments stand, Babacan stated
that the Sarajevo Business Forum is an important platform for Southeastern
European countries to share their experiences.
Drawing attention to the importance of political stability for the
economic process, Babacan stated that the political stability in the region can
be attained through tolerance and dialogue.
- One region, one economy
The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Saleh
Abdullah Kamel touched on the importance of the Sarajevo Business Forum and
expressed their hope that the forum will become an organization which works on
the investments in the region.
Former Croatian President Styepan Mesiç stressed the need to focus on
the “One Region One Economy” slogan by all countries of the region.
Many domestic and international business people as well as high level
government officials attended the forum held for the 6th time this
year by Bosna Bank International (BBI) and the Islamic Development Bank with
the Anadolu Agency as its global communications partner.
Many projects will be presented during the business forum, which will
last 2 days, on such issues as education, organic foods and development of
informatics.
Panels on “Food Sector in the Region,” “Informatics Technology Sector in
the Region,” “Tourism Sector in the Region,” and “Education Sector in the
Region” will be held on the second day of the Sarajevo Business Forum.
