In his press release regarding the Bara’ah Night, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that this night is a chance to forgive in order to be forgiven by the Creator.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said:
“Holy nights hold a special place among our days of cultural and
historical significance, tradition and observances. Bara’ah Night is, like all
other holy nights, is a time of contemplation, gratitude and renewal for us.
Providing an opportunity to pray for forgiveness and amnesty, Bara’ah
Night is also a time to mend broken hearts; a time to repair misgivings and
resentments; a time to overcome feelings of hate, grudges and revenge; a time
to forgive in order to be forgiven by the Creator.
On this special night, I believe that our people will forget misgivings
and resentments; they will work to further peace, friendship and brotherhood.
It is with these thoughts and feelings that I celebrate the Bara’ah
Night of the Islamic community and pray that it brings enlightenment to our
hearts while strengthening our unity and solidarity.”
