TOBB and TOBB University of Economy and Technology (TOBB ETU) Board of Trustees President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the iftar meal held by the TOBB ETU Alumni Association (TOBB ETU MED) at the university campus.
Addressing the alumni, Hisarcıklıoğlu urged them to not stop dreaming,
“You must dream in order to succeed. You are only free in your dreams. That’s
where it all starts. Electricity, internet, Facebook, twitter – all of these
began with a dream.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that dreams must be made into goals, that in order
to reach the top of the tree you must reach for the stars, as Confucius says.
Calling to mind the fact that Turgut Özal said Turkey would draw in 10
million tourists which nobody believed at the time, the TOBB President said
that today, Turkey draws in 37 million tourists annually stressing the
importance of goals.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that reaching goals is possible through hard work
which requires sacrifice.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu urged that the alumni, no matter what
sector they are working in, should innovate.
Congratulating the Association Chairperson Terzi and the Board,
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the services they provide are solely for the
university and are conducted for free with great devotion.
Also attending the iftar were TOBB Board Member and Treasurer Faik
Yavuz, TOBB Secretary General Mustafa Saraçöz, TOBB ETU Deputy Rector Prof. Dr.
Adem Şahin, Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Tahsin Kesici and alumni.
