Presidents of TESK, TZOB, TÜRK-İŞ, MEMUR-SEN, TÜRKİYE KAMU-SEN, TİSK, HAK-İŞ and TOBB which make up Turkey-EU JAC visited Prime Minister Ahmet Davtuoğlu, sharing their sadness and concerns. On behalf of the NGOs, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu gave statements prior to and following the meeting.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said, prior to their meeting with PM Davutoğlu:
“We pray for the grace of Allah upon the martyred Gendarmerie Major
Arslan Kulaksız who was brutally murdered in Malazgirt yesterday. We also hope
for the speedy recovery of his wife who was wounded during the attack and offer
her our condolences. We vehemently condemn the attack. Our condolences to our
nation.
As the employers and producers of our country; as its craftsmen,
farmers, workers; as its civil servants and job providers; we, TESK, TZOB,
TÜRK-İŞ, MEMUR-SEN, TÜRKİYE KAMU-SEN, TİSK, HAK-İŞ and TOBB are visiting the
Prime Minister.
As you know, our country faces a wave of terror from both within and
without our borders. We’ve made a statement in regards to the attack on the
July 23rd in Suruç which resulted in the loss of the lives of our
citizens, as well as the martyring of our soldier and law enforcement officers
in Adıyaman and Ceylanpınar. Unfortunately we’ve lost many citizens during
these heinous attacks. All of our citizens, like us, are filled with great
loss, sadness and concerns. Just as the previous elections, they’ve shown that
politics stem from the ballot.
No matter the excuse, terror is no acceptable way to conduct politics.
We condemn all instances of terror.
It is all of our priority to ensure the safety of our citizens and peace
in our country. It is our most basic right to live in a safe country. Ensuring
and maintaining trust and peace within the rule of law is the primary duty of
the state. We support all endeavor to ensure these conditions are brought
about.
It is clear that there can be no production without ensuring public
safety. There can be no commerce. There can be no employment. Our prosperity
would not increase. We cannot ensure a happy future for our children. Like all
of our members, we have come here today to relay our sorrow and concerns to the
Prime Minister. We will invite the Prime Minister to the meeting which we will
be holding in Ankara on Friday, aiming to provide a large platform for
arbitration with attendance of our representatives from all provinces. The
Prime Minister will be accepting our delegation with this agenda. Thank you.”

We would like to thank the Prime Minister for accepting our delegation.
This Friday, we will convene to discuss the rising wave of terror with regards
to the issues of peace and security as an indivisible part of democracy, a
