Prominent figures of the city have convened to discuss the international fair grounds planned to be built in Kayseri. Also attending the meeting was TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Speaking at the meeting presided by Governor Orhan Düzgün, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of the fair grounds for the city, pointing to examples in Germany.
Also attending the International Fair Organizations Meeting in addition
to TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu were CHP Vice Chairman Faik Öztrak
and chamber chairpersons from surrounding provinces and counties.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech, “Ground zero for this is Germany. Fair
grounds constructed by municipalities are managed together with chambers of
commerce. Germany’s annual income from fair grounds is 1 billion Euros.”
Stating that Kayseri is a city of commerce and industry, Hisarcıklıoğlu
requested that sectoral associations also join in this project. The TOBB
President pointed out that the project will find higher rates of adoption as
participation increases. Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the need to consider the
companies which construct and manage the fair ground as one.
