Reviewing the G20 Leaders Declaration announced at the G20 Antalya Summit, B20 Turkey Chair Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This action plan represents the Turkish business community as well as the global business community, as such, we wholly support it as B20 Turkey.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said:
“These days in which especially developing countries are negatively
impacted by upheavals in the global economy, the emphasis of G20 leaders on
growth is very promising. The Antalya Action Plan which incorporates updated
growth strategy and action plans is very important for the future of the global
economy. This action plan represents the Turkish business community as well as
the global business community, as such, we wholly support it as B20 Turkey.
As you know, we’ve worked hard to bring SMEs which provide 60% of all
employment and 80% of employment increase globally to the top of both B20’s and
G20’s agendas. As TOBB and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), we’ve
founded the World SME Forum. To have all of these efforts be adopted by G20
leaders and to have a private sector endeavor supported as a part of the G20
Leaders’ Declaration for the first time, is a great source of pride for us. It
is very important for me to have been the Term Chair of the B20 at this junction
of its 6 year history wherein it has achieved its greatest success yet.
It will be of utmost importance to prepare investment strategies in
accordance with the 19 proposals of the B20 in addressing the issues of
instability and uncertainty in the global economy and investment ecosystem. We
are quite pleased with the decision to increase total investments of the G20 to
be increased by 1% until 2018 as the business community. It is very important
to emphasize the development of financing tools based on assets and the
proliferation of public and private sector partnerships (PPP) which has been
emphatically requested by the B20 Infrastructure and Investments Taskforce.
Support for the oft-mentioned by the B20 Trade Taskforce, the
Facilitation of Trade Agreement by the World Trade Organization from the G20
leaders and the insurance that the TTIP-TPP will support and not disturb trade
have reinvigorated our hopes that global trade will once again become the
driving force of global economic growth.
As B20 Turkey, the representative of the global business community, we
have worked hard for more robust growth and more work throughout the year.
We’ve been vocal in our requests for the development of programs aiming to
proliferate employment opportunities for the youth. The positive reception of
our proposals in the G20 Leaders Declaration has been met with pleasure.
Additionally, we thank our President and all G20 leaders for their special
emphasis on entrepreneurship in regards to addressing youth unemployment.
It has been very important for us that our joint declaration with L20,
the leaders of the workers’ community as the B20 be noted and adopted by the
G20 leaders, giving a strong signal of confidence to the business and worker communities.”
