TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the 22nd General Assembly of Türk-İş which hosted the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Addressing the General Assembly, President Erdoğan extended his well
wishes for the 22nd General Assembly of Turkey’s largest workers’
syndicate, Türk-İş, expressing his love for the workers who contribute to the
development, growth and strengthening of Turkey through their labors.
“Labor is sacred to our beliefs. Our religion states that the just
recompense for a worker’s labor should be rendered unto them before the sweat
of their brow dries.” Stating that their culture also has similar views,
Erdoğan said, “As the long-established workers’ syndicates confederation,
Türk-İş has taken on a great mission in this regard.”
Minister for Labor and Social Security, Süleyman Soylu reported that
40,655 persons with disabilities have been employed as government officials
while another 4,000 is expected to be employed during the first months of 2016.
Reporting that the labor force has surpassed 30 million in Turkey, Soylu
stated that this is an important indicator of prosperity, employment and
growth.
