TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the attendees of the Council Member Briefing Seminar held on 11th, 12th and 13th of December at TOBB ETU.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his address that, “The most beneficent of men are those who are beneficent unto others,” and stressed the fact that there is nothing more beneficent than providing people with employment.

Stating that the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey is one of the most democratic institutions in Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the council members who, for four years competed with each other and were also elected by their competitors are the sector and opinion leaders of their sectors.

The TOBB President said, “You must know best. You must relay your knowledge to those in your county and province. That is the real reason for these seminars.”

Stating that the offices they now hold are not for fame, money or glory, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that these are for self-sacrifice, an opportunity to be beneficent to other people.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed to the significance of the growth of the middle class globally as well as increasing urban population.

The TOBB President emphasized the importance of unity and solidary.
