The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Turkey National Committee Board of Directors convened with M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu presiding over the meeting. Stating that international mechanisms like the ICC determine the rules of trade in the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that it is impossible for any one country to bring about change in international rules and emphasized the importance of the ability to lobby within international organizations.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that global strength derives from economic power, stressing the need to focus the national agenda on the economy.

Prof. Dr. Hakan Karan provided a presentation on the works of the ICC Customs and Facilitation of Trade Commission. İstanbul Arbitration Center Chair Prof. Dr. Ziya Akıncı also briefed the Board on the Center’s activities.
