TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the 11th Labor Council Meeting held at the Ankara JW Marriot and attended by PM Ahmet Davutoğlu.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu touched on domestic economic and
political developments. Davutoğlu stressed the importance of democracy and the
need to pursue it.
Davutoğlu reported that unlike many other countries which have yet to
recover fully from the 2007 crisis in regards to employment, Turkey has
provided jobs to 7 million new people.
In his speech Minister for Labor and Social Security Süleyman Soylu
stated their goals for 2023; to lower unemployment to below 5%, to raise
employment rates to 55% and to bring down off the record employment to under
15% in sectors other than agriculture.
