TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed his hopes that the new year will bring everyone peace; that tears and violence will be replaced with peace and solidarity, “I believe that reforms in the economy will enable Turkey’s star to shine once again in 2016.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his new year’s message:

“The region in which we are located has, unfortunately, had a very difficult year. We always say that real prosperity requires trade and investment. Investment and commerce require most of all peace.

Globally, it is a very tumultuous period. As the business community, we remain optimistic. The Turkish private sector’s dynamism and appetite for investment will overcome these issues.

Turkey is entering a new year with no more elections. This is a great opportunity for enacting the structural reforms required by the economy. I believe that if we are able to take advantage of this opportunity, Turkey’s star will once again shine.

I hope that the new year will have capacity for more tolerance, love, understanding and success. On behalf of the Turkish business community, I wish everyone health, peace and happiness.”
