The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Gönen Chamber of Commerce and the Gönen Commodity Exchange. Hisarcıklıoğlu also toured the Livestock Market of the Exchange. The TOBB President said, “No matter how strong you are, you are doomed to fail if your economy is weak; if you have no entrepreneurs. That is why entrepreneurship matters.”
During his visit to Gönen Chamber of Commerce Chair Hasan Çağlayan,
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Balıkesir is making a name for itself in the field
of renewable energy as well as agriculture and livestock husbandry.
Drawing attention to Gönen’s prominence in regards to natural springs,
Hisarcıklıuoğlu said, “Balıkesir is an important city in agriculture and
livestock husbandry. It is fortunate that the value of agriculture and
livestock husbandry increases as the human population does. The first thing
that comes to mind when speaking of Gönen is the poet Ömer Seyfettin, followed
by natural springs. Gönen’s natural springs have been left behind by the
competition. You need to catch up with your price advantage. In regards to
industry, leather, dairy, fruit and vegetable sectors are advanced. There are
also significant opportunities in the field of renewable energy, you have
access to 5th region incentives.”
