Speaking at the joint meeting for the foundation laying of the Çanakkale TOBB Social Sciences High School, Stars of the Economy – Çanakkale Awards and ÇTSO Ottoman Documentation Maritime Trade book launch, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance of unity and solidarity, “We all must aim for the same spot. If we all aim for it, we can achieve it.”
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it is his 11th
visit to Çanakkale, “Visiting Çanakkale fills me with an excitement each time.
This is true for all of us.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed his condolences for the law enforcement
officers and military personnel who lost their lives in the fight against
terror and said, “All people and institutions of Çanakkale are standing in
unison. There is unity and solidarity.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out the importance of former AK Party Çanakkale
MP Mehmet Daniş being appointed as Food, Agriculture and Livestock Deputy
Minister for the city, “I would like to congratulate the Governor as well, he
is very learned, young and dynamic. The mayor is also from a background of
trade. These are all opportunities for Çanakkale. Çanakkale’s chambers and
exchanges are serving it to the best of their abilities. Çanakkale has an EXPO
and congress center, OIZs as well as many projects for branding the
agricultural goods of Çanakkale. The works of Women and Young Entrepreneurs
Councils are also very gratifying for which I congratulate them.”
- “Education is the most
profitable business”
Speaking at the opening of ÇTSO’s chamber headquarters, Hisarcıklıoğlu
stated that establishing a faculty by TOBB had become extremely untenable due
to complications and that on the suggestion of Chairman Bülent, they have
redirected their efforts into building a high school, “The foundation we are
laying today is for that promise. We all owe Çanakkale. Education is very
important. It is also the only kind of investment which has no risk. You will
profit in every eventuality. TOBB has not shirked this task. We will continue
to invest in education.”
Stating that it is an important motivation to be awarding the companies
which contribute the most to Çanakkale’s economy, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that every
company is a star and deserves a medal in Çanakkale, going on to provide
information on Çanakkale’s economy.
- UMEM Project is an opportunity
to decrease pressure on employment
Stating that minimum wage, incentives and dishonored cheques are all
their shared issues, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “QR coded cheques and UMEM Projects
were insufficiently promoted. If we do complain about the lack of skilled labor
for employment and the pressure on employment then the UMEM Ability’10 Project gains
significance. It lowers the pressure on employment by 20%.”
