TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited Jerusalem and Ramallah along with TOBB Board Vice President Ali Kopuz, TEPAV Director Prof. Dr. Güven Sak and TOBB BİS Chair Ahmet Şekeroğlu.
As a part of the visit, Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Palestinian Prime
Minister Rami Hamdallah.
Hisarcıklıoğlu provided information regarding the latest developments in
regards to the Jenin Organized Industry Zone and the TOBB delegation’s visit to
Gaza.
Hisarcıklıoğlu also stated that the Turkish business community is ready
to give its support to the Palestinian private sector and people, providing
examples which have taken place so far.
Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah presented his thanks for the
support rendered by Turkey for the Palestinian people and that they are working
to provide the necessary investment environment for the Turkish business
community to take a greater role in the development of the Palestinian economy.
After the meeting, with Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah acting
as witness, TOBB and the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (FPCCI) signed a Business Committee agreement as well as an agreement
between TOBB BIS and FPCCI to facilitate the FPCCI in becoming a partner for
the Jenin OIZ.
Afterwards, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and the delegation
accompanying him attended the lunch held in honor of the TOBB delegation hosted
by Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chair Khalil
Rezzak.
Views were exchanged in regards to increasing cooperation between
Turkish and Palestinian business communities during the meal.
