Attending the Aegean Region Industry Chamber (EBSO) Successful Industrialists Award Ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the government has given two pieces of good news for food-based industry, saying, “Warehousing in agriculture is being transferred over to the private sector. The storage of goods will be conducted by licensed warehouses. The way has been opened for product specialized exchanges. We thank them for these two pieces of good news.”

Award Ceremony was hosted at the İzmir Hilton Hotel by EBSO Chair Ender
Yorgancılar and attended by Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkci, TOBB
President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the region’s chamber presidents as well as
many businesspeople.
Stating that they put great importance on the transfer of the
agricultural warehousing system to the private sector, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that
licensed warehousing is very important in this regard.
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the opening of the way for product
specialized exchanges is a very positive development for the sector.
Stating that problems are of course present in the economy, Hisarcıklıoğlu
said, “However, there is a government aware of our problems in Ankara. We are
constantly in consultation and hold meetings regularly.”

Tüfenkci
Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkci said, “Despite terror, we
will produce more, work more, embrace each other more and bring forth love.”
Tüfenkci stated that İzmir, with its various properties is a global
brand city and in a position to compete with many countries by itself.
EBSO Board of Directors Chairman Ender Yorgancılar pointed out the
importance of the industry for a strong country and economy.
Drawing attention to the terror attacks, Yorgancılar said, “We
vehemently condemn those who’ve lost their minds and consciences; those who’ve
left their humanity behind, those who are traitors to their country. There is a
grand betrayal at hand. The heart of our country must be united.”
EBSO Council Chair Salih Esen reported that they’ve awarded 139
companies and 2 successful entrepreneurs in the categories of production and
investment.
