TOBB President and EUROCHAMBRES Deputy Chair M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the EUROCHAMBRES Presidential Council Meeting hosted by the Italian Chambers Union, Unioncamere in Rome.
In his speech, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the immigration issue is a
large problem for both Europe and Turkey, stating that the EU and Turkey are
working in close cooperation on the matter.
Providing information in regards to the agreement signed between the EU
and Turkey on March 18th, 2016, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that TOBB is
working on a project to integrate Syrian refugees into the Turkish economy.
Stating that the project aims to increase the vocational proficiencies
of the Syrian refugees, Hisarcıklığolu emphasized that employment would be
achieved through cooperation with local chambers to address the needs of
refugees.
