In his press release regarding the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We are grateful to the Veteran, Mustafa Kemal, and his veteran brothers in arms and our martyrs for the pride we feel today. National sovereignty is the most beautiful herald of a beautiful future. A country makes the best decision to entrust its future to the conscience and verdicts of its people. This trust is given to our children. Both this day and our future is the twinkle in their eyes.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:
“The anniversary of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of the
Republic of Turkey, April 23rd, harbors great meaning in both
historical and social terms. The great Atatürk opened the gates of the future
by mixing national sovereignty and democracy in the mortar of the foundations
of our republic.
As the Veteran, Mustafa Kemal said, ‘Freedom, equality and justice are
founded on national sovereignty,’ thus presenting the true joy of this
meaningful and beautiful day to those who will inherit it, our children.
April 23rd is celebrated internationally, bringing together
children from all over the world together, laying the seeds for a better future
without war.
As the Turkish business community, we are working diligently to provide
our children with a prosperous country and a robust economy. Our understanding
of national sovereignty is the foundation of our efforts on this path.
It is with these thoughts and feelings that I heartily celebrate the
April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day of our nation.”
