The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), on the occasion of its 72nd Annual General Assembly, visited Anıtkabir to stand in the presence of Atatürk; a delegation led by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and comprised of the TOBB General Assembly Chair, TOBB Board, Councils, chamber and exchange presidents as well as various delegates.
Hisarcıklıoğlu wrote
in the memorial ledger the following:
“Great Atatürk,
We, the administrators and delegates of the
Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, stand before you on our 72nd
General Assembly.
Almost a century old,
our Republic’s history has garnered praise throughout the world and is a story of
honor and pride.
As the Turkish
business community, we are working diligently with the knowledge that we are
the primary actors of economic development in order to produce more, to invest
more and to create more jobs.
We know that the
countries which direct global economy are the ones with the strongest
economies. That is why we have shouldered a great and important responsibility.
We vow in your
hallowed presence to be equal to your expansive horizons.
All of our are
efforts are for fulfilling this promise.
Great leader Atatürk,
We venerate those who
contributed to the foundation of the Republic of Turkey; you and your brothers
in arms and all of our martyrs.
Our country will
march towards a bright future on the path of civilization.
That is our greatest
goal on the path you’ve set for us. May you rest in peace.”
