Meeting with the Turkish speaking business people from various countries, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We business people are the guarantee of world peace,” pointing out that commerce contributes to resolving many social issues as well as increasing prosperity.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, thanks to this organization, Turkish
speaking business people from various countries find opportunity to get to know
TOBB and the opportunities presented by Turkey, “You’re now honorary members of
TOBB with its 1.5 million member merchants and industrialists.”
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with 50 attendees from 22
countries taking part in the 19th TOBB Turkish Speaking
Entrepreneurs Program.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that prosperity is only possible through business
and trade, “The era for minding only your own business is over. Today, you must
do business with the whole world if you want to prosper. Whoever can cooperate
on a larger scale will earn more.” Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the only way to
achieve peace is through trade, pointing to EU’s Nobel Peace Prize;
Hisarcıklıoğlu drew attention to how tensions were lowered between France and
Germany through commerce, laying the foundations of the EU.
Stating that true prosperity is not petroleum or natural gas, but an
enterprising spirit, Hisarcıklıoğlu, addressing the attending guests, “The
future of your country is in the hands of you entrepreneurs.”
