TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the European Council of Enterprises and said, “Even though Turkey is not a member of the European Union, Turkish enterprises are very much a part of the EU.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu met
with Turkish women entrepreneurs from various European countries at the TOBB
Brussels Office for TOBB European Women Entrepreneurs Network meeting.
Reporting that he has
been elected to the post of EUROCHAMBRES European Union Expansion and
Neighborhood Policy Committee President, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they’ve
held an Expansion Strategy Conference with the representatives of the region
and the EU Commission.
Hisarcıklıoğlu drew
attention to the fact that they are holding meetings with global chamber
platforms covering Europe, the USA, Latin America, China, Russia, Asia-Pacific
and Africa, “We’ve informed them regarding July 15th and the period
which came after.”
Stating that they’ve
attended the European Council of Enterprises meeting, Hisarcıklıoğlu said,
“We’ve relayed the expectations of companies under four categories; what the
business community wants in regards to trade, what we think of the European
domestic market as well as our thoughts on sustainability and vocational
education.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated
that Turkey has attended the meeting for the first time with 15 chairs, “Even
though Turkey is not a member of the European Union, Turkish enterprises are
very much a part of the EU. 15 of our enterprises were represented; we also
received the right to vote on all issues which are brought up during the
meeting which is a first.”
Reporting that Turkish
companies voiced their opinions in regards to FTAs, EU and the Customs Union,
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he would be attending the general assembly of
EUROCHAMBRES of which he is the first non-EU member elected as EUROCHAMBRES
Vice President.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
reported that 7,000 women entrepreneurs are working under TOBB since 2007, “We
have women entrepreneurs in Europe. Our youth and women entrepreneurs are
especially effective in the European Union.”
TOBB Europe Women
Entrepreneurs Network Chair Mülkiye Aytar stated that their goal is to bring
the modern Turkish woman to the fore.
Stating that the
platform they’ve created brings women entrepreneurs together to cooperate,
Aytar said, “We want to see women lead in all fields.”
